HealthSpring Pharmacy Networks
Find a pharmacy near you and explore ways you can save on prescription costs.
Your care, your choice.
HealthSpring contracts with many regional chains and independent pharmacies. All plans include a standard network of pharmacies, and some plans offer preferred pharmacies for additional savings.
Preferred in-network pharmacies often offer lower copays for members than standard pharmacies. HealthSpring’s standard network pharmacies include many drug stores, grocery stores and independent pharmacies. These locations are considered in-network but typically have higher copays compared to HealthSpring preferred pharmacies.
Our network also includes home delivery options, such as Express Scripts Pharmacy and Accredo. These mail-order pharmacy services deliver your prescriptions conveniently to your home.
Although networks can vary by plan, in most cases you must use a pharmacy in your plan’s network for HealthSpring to cover your prescription drugs.
Preferred Network Retail Pharmacies
Plans with a preferred pharmacy network often mean you’ll pay less for your medications at one of the participating pharmacies. Review our list of national retail pharmacies to find one near you.1
Additional preferred pharmacies are available, including home delivery.

Out-of-Network Pharmacies
In general, we will cover drugs filled at an out-of-network pharmacy only when you are not able to use a network pharmacy. Here are some of the events when we would cover prescriptions filled at an out-of-network pharmacy:
- You travel outside the plan’s service area and run out of or lose covered Part D drugs or become ill and need a covered Part D drug and cannot get to a network pharmacy.
- You cannot get a covered Part D drug quickly within the service area. This may be because there is no in-network pharmacy within driving distance that offers 24-hour service.
- You are filling a prescription for a covered Part D drug and that type of drug is not often stocked at an accessible network retail or mail-order pharmacy.
- Part D drugs are dispensed by an out-of-network, institution-based pharmacy while in an emergency facility, provider-based clinic, outpatient surgery or other outpatient setting.
In these situations, please check first with Customer Service to see if there is an in-network pharmacy nearby.
