    Save Time on Prior Authorizations in Availity® Essentials

    Our self-service provider portal, Availity Essentials, is a one-stop shop for prior authorization requests and submitting claims, as well as checking benefits and eligibility. When requesting prior authorization through Availity, you’ll often receive approvals more quickly than by fax or phone.

    To request prior authorization in Availity Essentials, submit your request in four easy steps:

    1. Access Availity Essentials.
    2. Choose the HealthSpring Medicare Advantage payer space (52192).
    3. Select Applications.
    4. Select Authorizations and Referrals and choose your organization’s applicable Taxpayer Identification Number from the Select Organization drop-down.

    The benefits of submitting prior authorization requests through Availity Essentials include:

    If you don’t yet have an Availity Essentials account, register here at no cost to you.

    Be sure to add your facility or practitioner’s National Provider Identifier to your Availity “Manage my organization” to allow prior authorization submissions.
