Charlotte's story
When Charlotte had a heart attack, she was grateful that the doctors were able to stabilize her condition. But she learned that there was permanent damage to her heart. Charlotte began to see her expenses adding up quickly. Even with health insurance, things such as medical deductibles, co-insurance and payments for her doctor’s visits were her responsibility.
Luckily, Charlotte had purchased a Lump Sum Heart Attack and Stroke Policy for less than $1 per day.1 She received a cash benefit as a result of her heart attack. This support let Charlotte focus more on her recovery and less on how she was going to pay her bills.
